Full Description

Embark on a culinary journey through the charming streets of Gjirokaster, starting from the historic Cerciz Topulli square. As you set out with your welcoming host, you'll delve into the heart of one of the city's oldest neighborhoods, known as "Pazar i Vjeter." Here, amidst the timeless ambiance, you'll encounter Marjeta and her husband, ready to impart their culinary wisdom in an unforgettable cooking class experience.

The adventure commences with a delightful choice between a refreshing glass of raki or a soft drink, setting the tone for the culinary exploration ahead. Prepare to discover the essence of Albanian cuisine as you delve into a vegetarian menu crafted by Marjeta's expertise. Guided by her skilled hands, you'll master the art of crafting three traditional dishes, each brimming with local flavor and cultural significance.

First on the agenda is "Qofte bobollaqe," a savory delight featuring the creamy richness of yogurt. Next, indulge in the iconic "Qifqis," a delicacy unique to Gjirokaster, showcasing the harmonious blend of rice and local ingredients. Finally, satisfy your sweet tooth with "Hasude," a decadent dessert that promises to tantalize your taste buds. To complement these culinary creations, Marjeta has thoughtfully prepared a fresh seasonal salad, adding a vibrant touch to your feast.

After the culinary craftsmanship, it's time to relish the fruits of your labor. Gather around the table with fellow enthusiasts, and savor each dish, accompanied by a complimentary glass of wine, raki, or a refreshing beverage of your choice. Engage in lively conversation as you dine, sharing stories and insights into Albanian culture and cuisine.

As the meal draws to a close, take home more than just memories. A recipe booklet awaits you, ensuring that you can recreate the magic of this culinary experience in the comfort of your own kitchen. With each dish you've learned to prepare, you'll carry a piece of Gjirokaster's culinary heritage wherever your culinary adventures may lead.

In the end, as you bid farewell to newfound friends and flavors, you'll depart with a full heart and a newfound appreciation for the rich tapestry of Albanian cuisine.
