After about an hour and a half of travel from Tirana you will find yourselves right in the middle of the Divjakë-Karavasta National Park (Divjaka is the closest town), this area extends over 200 square km along the coast of western Albania. You are close to the Adriatic Sea, but this protected area is not the traditional marine area. You are within an oasis of biodiversity, between wetlands, flood plains, salt marshes, coastal dunes, pine forests and reeds. Only a thin strip of sand divides the area from the Adriatic Sea.
After reaching the Karavasta Lagoon, you will meet our special guide, an ornithologist who has been working in the park for many years. After a brief introduction of the area inside the visitor center, we are ready to climb the tower, up to 50 meters high. From here we can have an amazing view of the whole lagoon. The day continues with a short walk to the Godulla Lake, from where we will begin our bird watching. Reaching the bird watching tower on foot, you will have the opportunity to observe rare birds with your ornithologist specialist. You will be able to gaze at the Dalmatian pelican and pink flamingos. The tour ends by leaving you some free time for a swim, before you go to lunch in a small restaurant that offers the main local specialties.
